Wyoming Antelope

Just got back from a trip out of Cheyenne Wy. Let my son miss a week of school to chase Prairie Goats around. Less than an hour into the hunt he sees the one he wants. He calmly sneaks up to 260 yards ,gets on the sticks a puts a 130 grain round right in the pump house. We go 3 for 3 in about four hours. Not giant Antelope but very respectable .View attachment 64429

Very respectable goat. Great animal for "kids" Plenty of animals and opportunities.

They taste too good to be too concerned about headgear.

Awesome! I say let 'em miss school. Both my Junior and Senior year of high school I got called into the principal's office shortly after hunting season. Grades were great, but they would tell me I could not miss another day of school, or they could not legally allow me to pass on to the next grade. Missed all those days hunting with my father -- best memories of my childhood. Have him stay on top of the schoolwork on the car rides and sitting in stands... hunting with your family... it's worth it! Looks like an awesome hunt to! 3 for 3 in a couple hours is my type of hunting!

He was a little worried about missing that much class work, but I told him he would not remember the missed week of school but he would remember his first Antelope hunt. I euro mounted his skull for him and it came out pretty darn cool.
