Well.......Monday was the impala then we went to a new ranch tue thru Thursday (today) the first day saw lots of animals but they acted like there was a wall around the waterhole! Come to find out a leopard had just visited, we found what was left of a calf eland 30 yds behind the blind when we got out to take a leak! So nothing Tuesday.

Wednesday the PH wanted to try that hide again as there were two big Eland bulls in the area, but by 10:00 am, same thing nothing wanted to come in so as we were leaving a wildebeest bull steps out at 42yds. I'm thinking no problem, easy shot, but I end up shooting 3" low and hit his leg bone. The head PH says no problem, go to the new blind and I will track him for you, he tracks all day and loses him, CRAP! Meanwhile we are at the new blind and a warthog comes out at 25 yds, no problem. Pull back and wack! The PH and I are high fiving until he says let's look at the video, where we see I shot to far forward, CRAP again. I practice all the time and can't believe this! I've lost two animals in one day. Couldn't find them even with dogs. After reviewing the videos I'm pretty sure both animals will live, but they still count against me. Sad day at the dinner table.

Thursday we decide to go back to the last blind which is just a stick frame with branches covering it. We bring a blanket and a couple of jackets to patch all the holes where the sun can shine thru and sit back to see what happens..........
6:30 wack a monster Diker at 14yds, whoooyaa, 8:30 wack a nice warthog at 30yds ,( good thing I hit him good, he ran about 150yds and died 10' from his burrow). 11:00 am PH tells me to shoot the baboon out in front of us as they are making all the animals nervous, 51 yds a let her rip and the big male looks back at the sound of the shot land turns out of the way of the arrow only to have it center punch the female right behind him right thru the chest! Way to sacrifice dude! 2:00pm huge gemsbok steps out at 30yds, yes, you got it, Wack! Perfect shot. It ends up dying 10' from where the warthog died. Having a good day when at 5:00pm PH says I hear wildebeest!
Yea, you guessed it, another 30yd shot and there's meat in the freezer! We still have 30min of light left and the PH says maybe a kudo will come in, hee hee. I told him " aren't ex being a little greedy now?" I still got five more days!

Tomorrow going to look for another warthog then going to a ranch in the evening for bush pig should be fun!

Sorry all I have is a story, my wifes iPad doesn't have a USB port so I can't download pics. Your gonna have to wait. Going to bed now it's almost 11:00pm here

Getting ready to leave jo burg! Final head count: 2 impala, 1 warthog, 1 duiker, 1 gemsbok, 1 wildebeest, 1 hartebeest, 1 ostrich, 1 eland, and 2 baboons! PH told me to leave some for the other clients and my wallet feels rather light now, so I'm coming home.

Didn't mess with the twig snake, having to good of a time to try and mess with something that wanted to kill me! We ate the ostrich the next night and man was it good!
