Poor old timer had a run in with a long tail in the spring. Ear was all jacked up, scars on hind quarter and he lost his left antler - just a jagged velvet nub is all that's left.

Readers digest version:

Hunted with cuz for 2 days. Seen a few small bucks but he was unable to complete a stalk. He leaves and I relocate to a new spot. First morning pearched glassing away to find nada for 2 hours. Move to a higher vantage point that is basically the top of the hill all rocked out and as I reach my rock I look over to see a 4x4 walking up the hill through the forest towards me. Well, luckily I left my bow back at the original glassing spot so I went back got it and came back to look over the edge and see nada. Go figure! Glass around some other areas.. see few does, bear, etc and keep looking down the hill for the big buck which was at about 130 yards when i saw him. Finally an hour later he pops up feeding in the brush moving up the hill away from me. Start to look around for how i want to approach him and if coming from above is do able when I see mr. unlucky the mountain goat on top of a cliffed out ledge feeding in the brush at 80 yards. I wait and wait and watch as he feeds and slowly makes his way towards me only to have him bed in the brush at 40 yards. At this point I have no idea where the 4x4 went and I am not a picky hunter so I decide to start throwing rocks into the brush to get him up and on a trail towards me. 15 minutes later I litteraly had to hit him with a rock to get him up.. downside is he went away from me instead of closer.. Waited until he cleared a tree and put one behind his last rib. Probably me, but he may have stepped as I shot. I have no idea what I hit that killed him cause it was a stomach shot from everything I could see and smell on the arrow. Although it was not intenstine smelling - just green fresh leafy smell. Either way he ate just the same.
