Pheasant opener 2020

Have not hunted pheasant in Southern California, but I heard they plant pheasants in the Niland area on the opener. I have hunted quail and dove in that area for the past 10 seasons but not pheasant. Can anyone let me know if this is true or not. Thank you.

It’s true Pheasant are planted in areas around Wister Wildlife Refuge. There is a map from the DFG that shows specific areas where they plant.
Personally I won’t hunt the opener; too many DHWW for me !!

I searched for the map on DFG and could not locate anything on the internet as well. Where can I find it?

If you go watch your back, way to many knuckle heads hunting those birds in that area.

The pheasant are raised and released by DWU volunteers with no Cal F&W funding. It will happen this season.
