Going to our club that is next to one of ODP's WU properties.

Unless I get drawn for a NorCal hunt at LDC, Sac or Colusa...then it is aplane ride to Sacto!

Just depends on which opening day we are talking about:

Oct 7th - NE opener and also opener at Kern
Oct 21 - BOS opener - EXCEPT Sac valley refuges
Oct 28 - Sac Valley Refuge openers

Oct 7 - watching my twin grandsons for the weekend, while my son and his wife celebrate their 5th wedding anniversary. This will include working with them on blowing duck calls - hehehehehehehe

Oct 21st - I'll be in my blind at my club - sitting next to my son and his dog. That will come after a Friday night filled with a BBQ steak dinner (compliments of my son), lots of BS around a fire ring, and a 'sleepless' night in the trailer. I can never sleep before an opener.

Oct 28 - Repeat what I did for the Oct 21st opener...OR head to a Sac valley refuge opener (depending on reservation draw).

It's almost here...and I can begin to 'taste' it....... :smiley_stir_pot_ani:

Option 1, Lake Barrett in San Diego, gotta get lucky first plus close to home.
Option 2, Wister, gotta get a draw or my son has to get a draw :smiley_stir_pot_ani:
Option 3, when all else fails, hit the river!

Ok maybe I shouldn't have said northern, putting in for Grizzly Is., Los Banos, Mendota, etc. I'll be up the weekend of the 21st.

I just wanted to be sure...some people have asked me about Yolo - thinking it is not Sac valley. But, it is also closed til the 28th.

What you put in for is great, and I wish you well with a ressie for any of them you put in for. :smiley_stir_pot_ani:

On the water or in the Marsh.
Well me and the boys will just be getting back from Canada just in time to unpack and load up the truck. Hopefully I get a draw...if not I'll be sweatin it. I could be hunting a club on the North Shore, staying home if I pull a resi for the following weekend in tha Sac Valley. Just have to wait and see.

I think I'll be calling in sick that day :p I havent drawn a opener ressi yet so I cant count on that I'll have to check but if no ressie and if chucker opens the same day those red legged birds are in trouble. :smiley_prayin_ani:

I will be up on the property for the 7th opener. It is also the opener for X3A. And quail opens this weekend. So, you can be sure that I will take a couple shotguns and I will be sitting alongside one of the ponds for sunup and sundown. Hopefully the honkers will still be there.
