NM drawn for 2020

Drew a Neuvo Mexico tag for unit Forty Five in the second week of November. 'Twas my second choice and I suspect I didn't draw my first choice because there were less than 11 tags total for that hunt.

Lots of ground there but at least I've got 5 months to get ready....I think Hank might be familiar with the unit and I'm not sure if PaulC is.

I'm not looking for the biggest buck on the mountain unless I see him. But I reckon there is a chance to potentially find a nice 4 point.

Question is is Scouting in August gonna help me?

I don't know the unit, but, never a bad idea to get up there and get a feel for the land.

So Paul If you had a chance to do an OTC hunt in another state, or have that time to scout the unit more would you choose one over the other? Assuming arriving 2 days before the season either way.

I've heard people say they would give up a day of hunting to have a day of scouting. Do you agree?
