From my BIL's hunting buddy- posted mostly for story value.

I shot my bull Sat late morning. Here is how my hunt went
1. two days of death marches with fanatic hunting partners
2. On third day, escape insane hunters, side hill for two miles on semi-vertical slopes to alpine basin
3. Bugle one time
4. Elk charges in and have to defend myself
5. Shoot elk
6. Track elk
7. Take picture
8. dress elk
9. slice left index finger to bone and scream like wounded sasquatch
10. pack out 60 pounds of meat, elk head, bow and gear, falling 2,000 ft to road.
11. Hit two elk on way back to camp and do severe damage to truck
12 wait for tow truck
13. fill out accident forms with sheriff
14. Wait for Rob at impound yard
15. Drive to camp and exam finger, Rob insists I go get stitches or I will die a slow death of gangrene
16. Drive to West Yellowstone Clinic
17. Dispatcher reports that the nurse on duty is in Denver.
18. Determine gangrene option is not so bad, return to camp and sleep
19. Drop Rob off to start packing meat
20. Drive to Madison hospital and get finger stitched up
21 return and pack out last load of meat with Rob
22. Hitch up camper.
23. Home at 11 PM.

Old fat guys rule high country hunting!

NICE ELK!!!!!!!!!!! :smiley-shakehead-blue:

Sounds like he had a great hunting trip except for the two-day death march, two mile hike on a semi-vertical hill, lacerated index finger requiring stitches, the 2,000' fall with sixty pounds of meat, elk head, bow and gear and the two-collisions with elk causing his truck severer damage :2:
