I recently went with a group I'm involved with on a tour of some mines in the area around Joshua Tree National Park. It was NOT a hunting trip (as part of the trip was in the park) and, just FYI, even in the part outside the park, no upland type feathered friends were observed anyway. It was a beautiful day in the desert with just the right amount of clouds for some pretty good images, (at least they're pretty good IMHO). Though I'd share a few...

Very Nice! I used to make trips out to scout birds and photo wildflowers in Anza Borrego. Now I'm more of a mountains guy.

Looks like you might have been in the Old Dale Mining District. That was my back yard growing up. Nice pics!
