Enjoyed the challenge of taking 2 rabbits with air rifle last week, and a couple other critters as well. Put the major stock on this lil guy. Jumping him from several clumps of brush. Very tricky to make the longer shots in all these high winds. But what's good about it is it forced me to work on stalking in nice and closer. The same howling and gusting winds that made shots difficult and froze your face off at least did a lot for masking your sound on approach.

But boy... sure were a lot of different kinds of cactus to meet and greet as ya tried to pluck pieces off your clothing here and there. Occasionally cursing under your breath.

My brother had TXT'd me a vid few days before going there, this time it was of a Jack he took... was like 4 of his hand widths from front shoulder to rump! (His hands are XL just like mine) Looked like a small/medium dog!

Nice conejo..bucket list for sure.
"bucket list" this guy!....

Well... seeing as how these were my 2nd and 3rd rabbits I've ever shot, I was happy with 'em anyway. And they were tasty too.

I took off the backstraps and rear leg muscles and we made a gut pile with the rest on his property. Took a while... but the yotes finally got it like the 3rd day. Must have been real early in the AM. I Didn't hear 'em. But bro said he did when he woke to re-load the wood-burning stove for heat.

The winds out there soo brutal cold and howling the windchill had temps down to 19 F, so I possibly would have chosen to skip trying to pop the yotes anyway at butt-thirty in the morning.

Looks like a fun hunt! Air rifles are definitely a challenge in wind.
