Zach got his ram yesterday and I had yet to see a ram in my unit since the season opened. I had been hunting it when I could during the week when Zach was in school

Khart joined Zach and I this morning. First thing we glassed up a small herd of sheep over a mile away in some country that I had glassed over 4 different mornings.

We made a plan and got going Once we took off after them we lost sight of them for over a hour while we climbed the mountain where we had seen them.

When we got on top since we had not seen them for so long we had to work our way carefully into the area they could potentially be. Wind was good.

Zach spotted them and got my attention before I blew them out. We could only see one at a time through a narrow alley in the trees and they were only about 80 yards away. If there ever was an opportunity to sneak on barbary with a bow this would have been it.

I hesitated a long time on the one I got because I could not see the others to compare them.

Finally I shot him and 3 ran right at us and one stayed with the fallen ram. None looked to be bigger than the one I got.

Kevin saved the day taking a huge load of meat.

Great weekend for us getting rams in 2 different units on public land.

Here we are all together with our sheep. Sometimes it is better to be lucky than good. All 3 of us were able to fill our tags on rams.

Amazing, once again.

What do you do with the meat? Can't imagine the steaks being that great.

When you get a Chance tape them out.

Once again, you got to find wall space.

Meat is good. I tenderize the steaks and make sausage or burger out of the rest. The tenderized steaks can go to chicken fried steak, shish kabobs, stir fry, chili, and so on.

Zach's taped out at 17" and mine taped out just shy of 25". Did not measure bases. Mine will go on the wall and Zachs will be a european.
