Well my daughter Payton got to throw out the first pitch for the 66ers Friday night. Being a angels fan she was pretty excited, and being her dad I was probably more excited :smiley-wnk-yellow: well with rain expected (go figure right) we wernt sure it was going to happen but sure enough it stayed dry and she got to throw the pitch perfectly into the dirt infront of the plate :smiley_doh_ani: but it was all fun. And to top it off got a picture of her and Bob Boon one of my favorite angels players when I was her age.

Awesome Skeet.

Nothing wrong with throwing the breaking ball in the dirt. Just usually isn't smart at the 0-0... she will learn.

Skeet, my wife and I were there . Good job on the daughter's 1st pitch ! Our son is the pitching coach there for the 2nd year . We go to more than our share . Not a bad way to spend an evening at a ballpark paying minor league prices and having fun with Bernie ! Tell Payton congrats and don't listen to all of us old pitching coaches , ha ha , Old Quake 49

Nice job Payton. I'd have loved to have that opportunity.
I secondtbe value of AAA ball. Watched the Grizzlies Tuesday night. I'd recommend it to any one.

That's way cool! Hey, a little better to be in the dirt in front of the plate vs. "Just a bit outside!".

Great stuff!!! Some of my earliest pro baseball memories are Appalachian Rookie League and Double A Texas League games. Even saw the AAA Padres in the PCL days. Sometimes the local Single A games have big leaguers doing injury rehab. The usual level of play can be a bit spotty, but the minors still are great entertainment. :1:
