Bow hunting the desert is definitely not for the faint of heart or anyone who requires a lot of action to stay engaged. However, the deer haven't been chased all over and heard all of the off roaders run all over hell leaving a trail of beer cans. (Most call it quail hunting, some even call it scouting) So with a hell of a lot of hard work and miles walked and DAYS of glassing you stand a good solid 1% chance of having an opportunity. So when the alarm goes off at 3:00 and you know you have that long walk in the dark up that mountain for about a good 45 minutes of glassing with the scope before the deserts mirage is so bad you couldn't see a train at a half mile, just stay after it.Today could be your day. P.S... Please leave the quail alone. Almost zero hatch this year over most of the desert, for the 2nd year. We need some good winter rains to help those little yummy guys get their numbers back up.
