Who's going out this weekend?

I have to finish a bow mount for my mountain bike, but think I will go try and skewer a few rabbits and scout for the A zone opener at the same time. Daddy's gonna eat...

VPA SGT (small game thumper).

Full disclosure, I am on the field staff but have shot the broadheads and SGT's since they came out.

The small game heads are freaking gnarly and unbreakable. I used to shoot old broadheads and judo's, but will shoot these forever now. Pretty much unbreakable. I keep one in my quiver at all times for practice shots or for that quail that steps out while hiking back to the truck while hunting real stuff...

I had a sweet spot all picked out for the opener, but the guy has to run up to Santa Barbara, so I will be freelancing with the 22 this weekend if the morning hunt with the bow doesn't go exactly as planned. I am shooting the small game heads (blue box) and totally decimated some ground grizzlies with them after turkey hunting this spring.

will try to make it to the local hills. One thing I learned last year is I will not shoot blunts/small game heads at jacks, sucker ran off with my arrow. As for cottontails, you can glance them with the arrow and they will die. I just use old broadheads for all small game, blunts for stumping.

Really fun away to get ready for the season.

Hatchet you are the definition of a hardcore bunny chaser!

I read an article about how good eating the blacktailed jacks are so on top of the cottontail feast I am going to eat some jack rabbit too!

Now that is Beast Mode!

the worms are just a larva stage and only get between the skin & meat... just wash them off and make sure to cook your meat. as far as tulare virus.... check the liver for yellow spots.... shouldn't be a problem....

If the liver looks anything like mine I toss the damn bunny. So far so good down here in So Cal. As for the worms, I like to fish so I never have to dig for bait. All rabbit goes in the crock pot, until I learn how to BBQ it. Good thing is that there is no shortage of bunnies to practice with.

I got two today, anyone else get out?

Was supposed to be a day with about 25 miles round trip on the mountain bikes scouting and some rabbit hunting, but some idiot busted his buddy's tire before we left...

My bad. We can get some more bunnies and scout later this week, all I really wanted was to give the cams more time...
