bought a gps unit...

so i bought a legend today and it should be arriving in the mail some time next week :smiley-shakehead-blue: . i'm pumped to mark some hunting/fishing spots and also mark the new ones i discover. anyway, i was wondering how much more detail you get with mapsource or down-loadable topo. (is downloadable a word?) is there anyway to sample it? i'm new to the world of gps and any insight would be greatly appreciated. oh, are there any other things i should get to accompany my gps that ya'll find benificial? i mainly plan on using it to hunt/fish and the occasional hiking trip. thanks again...

The only maps you can download to a Garmin are the ones FROM Garmin.

You can go to the GArmin website and see screenshots of their downloadable maps.
