Hatchet it's working out, thanks
Her boyfriend is a couple of bike races up in the bat area she wants to do so I don't have to rush home lmao
Taking kids to school and then starting the 5 hour drive in just a few!
So here I am all packed up for a 5 day hunt in the X zone high country and now this zinger from the wife!!!!!
I'm totally not sure what to do.
My bags are backed, bear can full to the max with food, clothes ready, car gassed up and BOOM she lays a doozy on me.
Seems I'm good to stay an extra 2...
The wife bought a really nice hammock which is AMAZING to lay in.
That said we had to stop short of where I wanted to scout because we needed trees for the thing.
She said sleeping in it was great although it was windy and the rain fly made noise which kept her up some.
I on the other hand...
I agree Ed. I always have a 1 person tent in my car when I head for the High Country and if it even looks like snow it gets packed.
Woke up years ago at 11K with 4" of snow on me......that was enough for me.
I carry a Mystery Ranch pack w/NICE frame but the non american build CamelBack tagged version which saved me a ton of money.
For the Bivy I use an OR MicroNight with a Marmot Helium bag inside unless I expect snow then I carry a heavier bag.
Well I'm dialed for the backcountry one again!!!!!
Have the system dialed down the the pack, bivy, bear can and my Thermorest....plus the .06 of course.
For an overnight or a week I just add more food and I love hunting like an animal and not being tied down to a camp.
Who else hates tents and...
In all seriousness my Dr told me I'm doing better than ever and cleared me for the 6 day solo hunt as long as I promised to not push myself to hard...........
I said ok but totally had my fingers crossed!
Getting ready for my hunt this year I had to learn how to deal with my shakey hand due to Parkinsons and I realized I have the ultimate advantage.......
Since I shake all the time and now have figured out how to shoot accurately even with my tremor I'll never have to worry about buck...
