Follow up report :
Took a while but healed up and finally able to step away from work to hit the hills in a wonderful 96 degree day. With limited hunting land available it was slim Pickens and didn’t see a deer until 1130! The swaro could make out some bone but at a mile away and heat waves that...
Late follow up report: went back the next day looking for him and had some pain similar to the day before in my right side abdomen. It was worse and I knew something wasn’t right so drove all the way home and into the ER to go under the knife that night to have my appendix removed.
Nothing worse than thinking you’re going to take it easy and road hunt only to ask “wonder what’s over that hill” did that a few times and was able to find this guy. Glasses up some other bucks too- but stalked him only to have him turn into a ghost
sadly- my ol hunting jeep AC don’t work...
Update 2: 5 bucks spotted and no stall attempts due to their location. All but 1 was hard horn, warmed up a little to 94.
Going way north tomorrow to try some road hunting to save my feet a day. Suppose to be 99.
Gundog- statistically I am an above average killer. A zone archery public land hunting is the hardest hunting there is- hands down period!
I am hoping to notch a tag tomorrow- just got to find one that wants to play
It was 115 up where I went Saturday. When it hit 108 around 12:00 I called it and hiked back out to the truck. Seen 5 bucks and 2 bears. Two other hunters pushed the bachelor group so I elected not to chase. Going back Thursday or Friday.
