This is disturbing. The press release for this decision focuses on how few trappers exist, and there was no revenue to support the program. Next on the chopping block is bobcat hunting. Every hunter in this State ought to buy a bobcat tag. Coyote hunting is next, then bear hunting. Everyone should buy a bear tag, too. It’s just a matter of time, otherwise.

Bear tag purchased. Always like to have it just in case I see more bear than deer on my late October hunt. I do run into the occasional bobcat so maybe it's time to pull the trigger on one of them too!
