Hi Everyone, 

Its been a while since I was here but I came across this interesting set of antlers and I thought the crowd here would enjoy see it as much as I did.

This is a very old head that has been passed down over the ages.  Any thoughts on type of deer?

Nope, just a very old set of antlers.   Over 100 yrs....  But somewhere along the line the skull was painted/ varnished

Looks like a Pierre David deer... extinct in the wild I believe. You can hunt them high fenced in Texas. They have a few at the San Diego Wild Animal Park. Ed F

Reminds me of a local deer a few years ago.
