Did my once a year ball buster D16 newboots hunt. Gotta a mature buck tending a hot doe but 17 miles and this heat makes me want to hunt in the white Buffalo.

3 days in the heat filtering water, eating MH and carrying everything on my back....came home with this guy after a Sunday 6am shot 355yds one lung, then he stopped at 300 and was not going down. Put another in him heart shot and he ran down hill crashed and produced a 20' dust cloud.
Let him lay for an hour, hike towards the dust cloud and I hear crashing in the bottom. I head that way next thing I hear is him crashing in the nasty water that I'm drinking. He gets out lays down and he's gurgling bad the end is near.
I go over and put one more in him.....he was rutting hard on this doe before I shot him......he must not of gotten luck because he did not give up....it's my honor to harvest such a fighter....one I won't forget a really fun and hard hunt with two good friends!

Now on to deer camp and help fill other people's tags....cook some elk burgers for camp!

Thanks guys

I'm just lucky not many fools will go this stupid for a D16 buck...my drive is to have fun with good friends and pass on the knowledge...Im lucky its close to home with a chance at a really good deer, with as few as 0-2 hunters a season...This is no secret spot in SD it just takes someone who really craves a challenge....and I love hunting this spot lots of good memories!
