3 days in the heat filtering water, eating MH and carrying everything on my back....came home with this guy after a Sunday 6am shot 355yds one lung, then he stopped at 300 and was not going down. Put another in him heart shot and he ran down hill crashed and produced a 20' dust cloud.
Let him lay for an hour, hike towards the dust cloud and I hear crashing in the bottom. I head that way next thing I hear is him crashing in the nasty water that I'm drinking. He gets out lays down and he's gurgling bad the end is near.
I go over and put one more in him.....he was rutting hard on this doe before I shot him......he must not of gotten luck because he did not give up....it's my honor to harvest such a fighter....one I won't forget a really fun and hard hunt with two good friends!
Now on to deer camp and help fill other people's tags....cook some elk burgers for camp!
