It's been a short season for me this summer. I had an itchy trigger finger and a huge desire to fill up the freezer. The pictures are from one exciting day in June.

I added a Hawaii 11 pointer (spike) to the freezer in July. NC and TX trips will round out my 2018 fall. Good luck in CA this year, wish I had the time...

Awesome work!  Talk about some good eats in the freezer!

I haven't hunted hogs much. I get the urge on occasion but the only realistic way to hunt them on Oahu is baiting. It's a ton of work and can be fun but I've killed quite a few and usually only go if my daughter is really interested. She's been talking about it so stand by.

I hunt them unguided 365 days/year. Best velvet hunts would be March/April although you may find one or two in velvet anytime.

Sounds like instead of pulling my hair out trying to chase turkeys I should face north and turn left in the spring!

Or you could come over in February for the state archery hunt and chase turkeys as scheduled! Most of the bucks are still growing during the state hunt but you'll occasionally find a "hard velvet" or even a buck with no velvet on that hunt.
