I was told durring a wild lands firefighter cert class that "Heroes" end their watch fighting, "Legends" prevent"Heroes"! Strong anchor point and GTFO when things get sketch, live to fight tomorrow.
Godspeed to the men and women out there. 🙏

My son is on his way back today from 2 weeks on the Ferguson fire in Yosemite.  Almost 4,000 firefighters on that one. He said he logged 229 hours in 2 weeks. He said he will get a couple of days off and then head to Idyllwild probably.

Idyllwild is looking pretty good right now we have line around most of it. He will probably be heading back north but either way the way they are popping off he won't be sitting long

I came in this world with nothing and thankfully still have most of it left

I'm not lost I'm just scouting

I am on the western edge ,  fortunately  The wind is mostly pushing it easterly .    Lost power here  for over 12 hrs yesterday because of it . They were saying to expect a 3 day outage .  Bought 100 lbs of ice to keep my meat and fish frozen .  Have not been able to get to Redding for supplies for well over a week.

I just feel  for the several hundred who have lost their homes.  Having to buy ice is a small thing .

Only 5% containment was the last report , over 80,000 aces so far .   Its ugly .

Unfortunately one of my friends lost their house on Friday. He lost a very impressive deer mount collection of over 5o years of Shasta county bucks. It was one of the most impressive deer collections I've ever seen.He was able to get all his guns and pictures out.Really a sad day.

Sorry to hear that American. Not fun times at all. Went scouting in the MNF and the smoke was very bad until you got to the higher peaks.

Home counts are over 1,000 now, so hes not the only one.  Sucks all around.  This fire was wicked.  OG cal fire guys are saying this thing moved like nothing they had ever seen before.  I heard a rumor at one point it moved 12 miles in under 30 minutes.  I was about 100 yards from the fire tornado at one point, I could go on without ever doing that again.  Death toll is still on the rise.

Thank you all you fire men!! Put one out about 4 miles downwind of me yesterday in one day. Its all about the quick response from the air attack. Let it get big and there is no stopping it.
