We almost bought a place in Williamson Valley about 12-13 years ago.  It was a nice modular home on about 4-5 acres for not much money.  Love that area.  Sedona is a cool place to visit once in a while in "off season", but I'd never want to live there.

I lived in the Phoenix area for years. You couldn't pay me to move back to any of the metropolitan areas surrounding Phoenix. You've got to love the blistering heat and desolate landscape. I'd live in Prescott in a heartbeat, though.

All for the love of the dove..well, that and the salary..hard to beat.if we did not have to be close to sky harbor..we too may have been Ed,s neighbors...I can only imagine..it's not to bad where we are at..you just have to build the compound and shelter in place when the 120,s hit..pretty happy where we are at..no desolate landscape here..and lots of water in the backyard..L.O.L.

Welcome to my Oasis anytime George! We are hotter than hell for about 4 months a year..nothing the water park in the back yard can't fix! Something that would run 2 mill in calistan is Penny's on the dollar here! We,ll crash Ed,s ranch when it gets too hot! He,s in the cool breeze of the Foothills..bout an hour north..come on!!

It can get hot in Prescott at times too.....nothing like the desert, but still pretty warm.  I'm done with the heat.  I like the White Mountains and a bit higher elevation.

I remember visiting family in the greater Phoenix area in summer, nothing like jumping in the pool when it's 110+ air temp and 98 water temp.....  No thanks.

My parents lived in Flagstaff after I'd moved out.  I visited a few times.  Pretty nice.  Never been through Prescott.

Yup. Summertime swimming in Phoenix is like taking a dip in a warm vat of spit.
