I put my daughter in for the draw a few days ago and she drew the tag! Anyone have a secret spot, or are they all over the place? I need to find the biggest flock that are used to people feeding them, because this kid is not the hunter in the family, and I'm really glad her first tag she drew is for a bird!

Thanks!

When’s the hunt? There’s a huge crew running the west side to liberty glen on the 25th. That otta scare every bird over the road and east.

Big game hunter!

Look east of Skaggs road from liberty glen camp ground and sound towards the bridge. Lots of country there to explore.

Big game hunter!

What is the hunt area? Is it the same as the deer hunt area or the pig area?

I could be mistaken, but the deer area is yourty and the turkey hunt is liberty. Assuming that is still the case you wont need a boat.

Sorry i dont current info on the liberty side, but it shouldnt be hard to find birds there is a good population.

If you find its on the yourty side and have a boat PM me.

Those yardbirds will be in or near the campground..trick will be to get them far enough away from the bread and popcorn to stay within the rules of engagement..looks like it's gonna be a wet opener..wet yardbirds make for terrible money shots..I'm bringing a hair dryer!!

Bp- deer area is yorty and pig area is whole lake. Last I thought Turk was yorty but I have not looked into it lately. Once you find out the hunt area let me know. I have not been there recently but can let you know where the Turks have been historically and good places to hear the morning gobbles.

Hope the kiddo can hike as the birds are NOT by the campgrounds unfortunately

So the letter I got says its the whole lake area except the eastern no hunting visitor area. So it looks like I'll be taking the boat up north if its better!

Can you smoke a shoreline strutter from the boat if it's not under power? Like hit the kill switch and float on in for the kill shot? Maybe above the high water mark? Them lake patrol greenies get kinda nutso about the high water mark.
