The CO opener was yesterday as well. The area we were duck hunting seemed to be loaded with ditch chickens. You can hunt them at the place we were at until 12/1 though. They were flying and cackling at lot at shoot time.

Just got back..... tough opener for me. One point yesterday (hen) and one today on a rooster that flushed way wild. Hot and zero wind made it tough. Hope next week is better.

It was a tough opener - went with a friend who had 2 dogs... Hit ditches all day ... Right before 8:00, he said I want to hunt this ditch but lets check out another one up the road... He didnt  like that ditch so went back to the other Ditch it was 8:05 and there were hunters already walking it....

Ended up at the other ditch and then hit about 10 ditches all day - probably got my 10000 + steps in... 2 dogs... No birds.....

A lot of the ditches have been cleaned up and there was a lot of water flowing in them....

My buddy doesn't like hunting fields or dove hunting...

But still saw lots of dove out there.  I will be out again next Saturday...
