Man it’s nice to be back at it again! Season opener to in North Texas and it wasn’t to bad. Saw a good number of birds, more than I’ve been seeing when scouting. Went to a spot I hunted mostly last year and it was on right at shooting time! Had a drake Mallard come in first thing, he got smoke and Gunner didn’t miss a beat!! Doesn’t even look like he had time off!! After that I hear him sniff and look back and there is a giant buck at 30 yards and I mean a GIANT!! He didn’t even know we were there so I’m trying to get my phone for a pic then I here a mallard about to land in the decoys!! Well priorities first.... mallard got smoked! Done in 45 min with a 4 mallards and 2 gadwall limit not a bad start.

Thanks for the compliment on my dog!! Really appreciate it he is something else!! I really lucked out on him especially when I see other people’s dogs hunting. The stuff I see him do is nothing but amazing!!

Outstanding been waiting for your reports

I came in this world with nothing and thankfully still have most of it left

I'm not lost I'm just scouting

Brutus the best friend a man could ever have dreamed of. You will be missed more than I can describe. Until we meet again in those happy hunting grounds rest in peace 4/23/96 - 10/05/09

Really you shot Mallards over spoonies! That's pathetic. Oh, and I still hate you. :smiley_10sign:

It took awhile to get used but you really don’t see a lot of spoonies out here!! Mostly mallards and gadwall. I miss having live decoys! I did get one last year and it was the only on I saw!

The season starts later out here been doing a lot of deer hunting!! My buddy has 300 acres and needed to do some doe management this year!! So far go 2 doe and a spike that he didn’t want it had one antler messed up so he gave me the green light to kill it!! I have plenty of meat in the freezer and jerky!!!
