You're not naked, you have a bow. I know someone that successfully fended off a lion with their bow.

But not a broadhead......

I don't know if that makes him more of a badass or more of a dumb ass.

Bad dumbass?  Dumb badass?  I mean given who we are talking about while not talking about em, it all fits!

Lot of mountain lion where I hunt.  Even when rifle hunting with a large pack and rifle on a sling,I carry a 10mm Glock across my chest in a holster attached to an oversized belt.  No way to unsling the rifle if I'm knocked down.  But I might at least have a chance to get off a shot if I am face down, maybe even with it still in the holster.  What are the odds that scenario occurs?  Not much. But it feels better to have a defense just in case.

I lived in LA County when the Rodney King riots broke out and the riot paths were getting close enough in my city that law enforcement was patrolling in caravans.  I got some comfort knowing I could at least fight if necessary.  I've had a handgun safely contained next to my bed for 50 years but never had occasion use it in self defense against an intruder.  In terms of probability, a critic could say an accidental discharge may have been a greater probabiliy since self defense situations never happened.

But neither self defense needs or accidental discharge ever occurred.  So probability means nothing to me.  Having a means of self defense means a lot and makes me feel a bit safer.

Just the bow? (Be honest)

The guy that killed a mt. lion in our SD mountains a few years back in "self defense" and then got charged. Did he do it with a rifle, bow, knife? I think he might of been a member of the forum and an IV native.

Only try the Swiss army knife in one hand, and a rock in the other if you have someone on overwatch that has their $hit together!

I'm pretty sure the guy armbarred it.

Good lookin' people, they got no spine.

In 1999 I was duped by Y2K, I thought the world was coming to an end and I spent well over a decade ingesting copious amounts of ayahuasca daily to prepare for the inevitable apocalypse which, to my genuine surprise, never arrived.

Since Erik Fleet was involved he probably got a bum deal. 15 feet?, is my 20 yard pin high at that distance?
