BIG Congratulations on a job well done! Thanks for a great story with a happy ending. I too have had my own mishap with a havalon. Thankfully it was of the band-aid variety but it could have been A LOT worse in another 1/4". Great article of a great hunt!!!!! Well done!

Woo!  The Havalon slip... yup... been there and done that!  (Left index finger, ugh) Life gets real, real fast that way doesn't it?  At least they make a clean sharp cut though.

Glad you were able to get safely outta there man AND still get your buck back home!  That country looks so nice and green!

No stitches were needed as it was over 48 hours before I got to the ER and it was already scared over. It didn't lay open, the blade went straight in. It didn't look infected so the doc left it alone and gave me antibiotics. The worst part was the internal bleeding. Still sore as hell, 3 weeks later and the blood is still trying to disolve.

Wow, you got lucky. Could have been a whole lot worse.
