I've got the Salomon Quest GTX's as well. Very comfortable boot!  

Just be careful if crossing rocks or ice in freezing temperatures. Put on some crampons or you'll likely slip and fall and it could get very painful very fast.

Just a thought... Under Armour pulled their endorsement support from that guy who quite successfully speared a Black Bear and captured the whole thing on film and also with a GoPro on the Spear itself. Soo... as a hunter... you *may* want to consider not supporting that company financially.


Remember .... UA is a billion dollar company that has a very small hunting "side" business. They have to walk a fine line. Completely understandable business decision if you ask me.
They still sponsor and support hunting.

That same type of thinking is why Cali is in such trouble with 2A rights these days. People afraid to pimp-slap all these sjw's and snowflakes back into reality and knock some sense back into their heads, verbally speaking and by show of unity.  

If we all pull our support from them... if they like that money they were making good enough, they will change their tune real fast once some other company starts getting ahold of what USED to be their market share.

Problem is we all start to thinking "Aw... why am I doing this boycott. It won't make a bit of difference." well... I know for sure it won't with that kind of attitude.  Your money is your biggest voice in a matter. They WILL follow the money, best believe that. And if that means they decide to ditch making hunting products. Good!  Don't want you here if you're gonna puss-out and and let emotionally driven idiots guide your decision making processes.

Has nothing to do with the liberal ###### tards in California. We as hunters also have the responsibility of portraying our sport in a positive way. Not publishing videos jumping around acting a fool and then playing with the guts! Facts are facts... ther are more antihunters than hunters and doing stupid ###### doesn't help our cause. We should all defend every legal means of hunting and I defend ther right to kill a bear with a spear. But the video was in very poor taste and I sure as hell don't think it put a positive spin on hunting. They are representing a BILLION dollar company and the hunting community they should act that way!

What do you mean "playing with the guts"?  They didn't "play with the guts". They rolled him over.. he lifted up the intenstines to visually inspect the size of the wounding, and that was that. And you talk about the jumping around part... that's just an S-ton of adrenalin that guy was experiencing. He rightfully deserved to do that. I've seen worse whoopin-it-up from hunters that did long-range shots on video. I can't imagine the rush that guys body was experience at that moment afterward!

I'm just not seeing anything in this video that seemed disrespectful.  Are you saying it's disrespectful that he displays joy at his accomplishment or something?  Not trying to stir the pot here either. I just want to better understand your viewpoint and criterion specifically as to why you believe it's in "poor taste".  Like what could they have done differently or cut out of the edit, that would make you believe it was no longer considered in "poor taste".  I'm just trying to understand your perspective here, that's all.

Right.. I got that... I just wanted to know what about the video... for you... would need to be different, or left out of the video, for you to no longer consider it to be in poor taste. I legitimately want to know so I can take it into consideration some day if I'm ever lucky enough to film a kill.  There may be some aspect or way of thinking about it that you mention that I might not have considered before, which is why I ask.

I cant say I was offended by the video, but, I found it annoying.  If I was Underarmor in this environment, I would have let the contract expire and not renew it, so to not bring to much publicity to it.  I thought they were a bunch of cell phone yielding clowns.

To each is own. Not a fan. Seems more about the video than the hunt. I've never hunted bear and I've never baited an animal to get it in range. Just not my thing. The whole GoPro on the spear thing shows me that he's all about the video. I get him being excited but damn, why didn't you have a drone shooting and a Steadicam operator and jib crew while you were at it. Still, doesn't really change my opinion of Under Armour gear. If it fits well, works well and is within my price-range, I'll buy it. Plenty of loads out there in the NFL wearing it that I probably would have issues with as well. I was kind of hoping to see what would have happened to the DB when he didn't get a kill shot and the wounded bear kicked his ass. Now I'd have paid good money for that video!

Oops, were we talking about boots? I forgot. I really like my Cabela's White Tail Extreme boots. I've had two pairs in the last 10 years and have a lot of mileage on both. I still have the first pair but they are a bit tattered so I use them when I have yard projects. Really comfortable boot for my narrow high arch.
