Hey Everyone,

I’m new to this forum and fairly new to the outdoor world, but I'm getting really into it.  I’m looking to add a vest to the equipment list, but was looking for some advise on features or materials I should be looking for.  I’m looking for some extra storage space which I can easily access on the go.  I was looking for some input on what I should be looking for regarding materials and pockets for a lightweight yet functional vest.  Any input would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks for your time.

Upland vest, turkey vest, waterfowl vest, or just something to hike in?

And welcome to TOF............ :smiley-wave-hello-yellow:

What ever it is, Actually go in and try it out. Put it on, check fit and access to gear. Is there ample storage for gear without being bulky. I will not buy on-line without first going into a store to see it hands on. Then go on-line and find best $$$$$$. Also get the best quality vest you can afford, As such, for all of your gear.

What are you trying to accomplish?

I'm looking for something to hike in but would also like to use it for fishing.  I'm wondering if the materials such as cordura would be too heavy weight?  I'd like some breathability but not lose durability. I live in southwest florida so saltwater and the sun seem to eat up a lot of fabrics.

Thanks for the input!

Light backpack covers all the bases.  A vest for storage would be worthless under a backpack.

Don't overthink it...
