Yep...gonna pack 2...just tinkering with the idea...I spoke with howa and weatherby....they only make them in short actions"because that's were the target shooting market is". Sad when I mentioned big game hunters and the need and want for a long action dbm..in 5 rds..sad indeed...

What happen to one shot one kill hatch? Your only shooting at a standing four legged critter .... Not multiple flying targets that duck and dodge like sugar ray Lewis ...... How hard could it be?

Hatch has the 3 headed monster to outfit. I can see monster #1 fouling a shot, #2 grabs the gun slams home another round but jerks his shot high and to the right, #3 (the cool one) grabs the rifle and sends a copper pill on its way. Although highly unlikely, he misses. With only three rounds the Princess of Death will have to load another mag before she can take that 428 yard, running like death is imminent shot. Much easier if there's still two rounds in the mag.

This is 100% true!! i cant compete with 6 eyeballs on the triple headed monster!! throw in the hawk{the princess}  and forget about it..im lucky to stay on the 2 track road!!!  as far as the search goes for 5 rounders..its over..they just dont make um..and to have a few built it would cost more than the rifle!!  so PHOGETTABOUDATT!!!

Google "CDI bottom metal".  They make (and will inlet your stock as well) bottom metal that will accept AICS mags (5 and 10 rd mags).  Short of that you're looking at Badger, PTG or some type of chassis system (XLR, McRee etc) for a Howa.

Better check with Ms. Feinstein and make sure it is okay for you to have one. :smiley-wnk-yellow:

thanks for the tip..i checked them out..they do make them..but id have to buy the whole assembley..and prolly have it worked into my stock....by the time i was done,,it would cost more than the rifle...i was just looking for an aftermarket detach mag that would hold 5 instead of 3..in my old age..another 2 makes a huge difference..and i aint just talkin cartridges either....sadly...

Actually, now that I think about it, Howa makes their own DBM with mag for less.  Must have not been awake that early.  Look at the Legacy Sports international page (importer of Howa) and they (as well as midwayusa.com carry it).

Here we go...page 28

And the parts from MidwayUSA

I see now, that they only offer 3rd mags for the 25-06...my bust...

They do...they just don't make a 5 round mag...I actually dropped a weatherby vanguard dbm into my howa...nice and light...dropped right in with no tinkering...they come in 3rounders only...talked with weatherby also...they have no plans for a 5 or 10 either...guess they figure with 3 they will market better when the mag capacity bills start running rampant in this country...already have here in jackafornia!

What about 3D printing one? I have no idea if it can be done for your rifle or how much it would cost.
