I shot a Tasco 3x9 circa 1973 on top of a 7mag and took a 30inch utah muley at 400plus,and a 7x7 bull in Idaho. Many other fine shots came from that scope.

LOL

Matt, you almost convinced me to go with the .25, but, I went cheap.  I took my .270 that is almost 30 years old and bought the Zeiss Conquest 4x14x44 with the rapid Z 800 reticles.  The calculator is on the website.

Long story short, I gonged the 500 yard target with it using factory loads.  The grass is not always greener.  I would have never guessed that was a 500+ yard rifle, let alone with factory loads.  That rifle has been sitting in my safe since I bought those HS precisions except when I went in the woods.  Killed my bear with it last year.  That 270 is about 4 lbs lighter also.

I would have left the leupold, but, I never trust myself on the hold over when your reaching out pretty far, and I do not trust the other ballistic calculators out there.

I think you will like the Zeiss.  I like all of mine.
